Summer greetings- checking in.

Hey (:

I know it's been a while, but this summer has been going quite... unusual.

It's been quiet- if you have any idea what I mean by that. I mean... it doesn't exactly feel like summer- or at least, not like any summer I've experienced before.

Maybe it's just me. The one who's quiet and unusual.

It's a possibility.

One certain highlight (no matter how pathetic this might sound) was seeing Eclipse. :] I've already seen it twice- and if I get pressured into it enough- three times including tonight. =P

It was WONDERFUL! The best of the three movies in my opinion. I went to the triple feature midnight showing with my like-minded crazy, hardcore Twilight friends and like the time before, waited for five hours on the this time hot cement, playing cards and drinking lots of Starbucks. From that, I've acquired a new taste for coffee. I like it now. :]

This is both a good and bad thing. =P

Another good and bad thing is Victoria's latest weather patterns. It's finally hot out. This is good in the sense that we are free to go to the river and lake- it's now suitable for swimming. But what's bad is it's not so great for staying inside beside a hot working computer- recording for me, I mean. Perhaps I'll invest in a small air conditioner for my space, but during important recordings, it can't be on. It'll show up too obviously.

*sigh*

I think I will get me one of those though. Sounds like a sane investment.

I have some gigs coming up, if that's the kind of stuff you're interested in. I also have an interview for one of them. That one being the Organic Islands Festival, which I haven't been to for... two years now? I played once before- my first time busking- and also on the main stage, when I was fourteen. One of my first experiences performing most likely.

It should be fun. I am quite the hippy... or at least I've been told.

I like this new hobby I've discovered; "Reading."

Hello, once again.

Today while I was laying on my bed, being old fashioned and reading a book, something occurred to me. I realized why people read books, and why people like reading books. It's because for one: Reading a book is a completely different experience then any other form of entertainment. It's certainly the most private, and it's just plain text. It leaves so much for the reader to create and visualize how they want the story to be portrayed. Unlike a movie experience. And the most pressing reason, for myself personally, is: It gives you a break from your own life. It's so relaxing and calming to sit down with a book and be taken to an entirely different place. Someone else's life, with their thoughts and their problems, and their reality. One that is not your own.

It really is the ultimate way to breathe. The alternative to breathing.

I just really realized this about an hour or less ago, when I was reading this book that I bought this weekend. When I had nothing to do. --Wait, scratch that. When I didn't want to do anything. Cause the truth is, I had plenty of things to do. There are always plenty of things to do, it's just a matter of having the desire to do these things. And sometimes, nothing seems like a viable option. Or one good enough.

Anyway, I underestimated the power of a good read. I also underestimated the power of a good read that isn't Twilight. =P If you've been reading my blog, or even just know me personally, you should know by now that I heart Twilight. <3>

The book that I'm currently reading, and the one that triggered this mini epiphany is called "It's kind of a funny story" By Ned Vizzini. So far, the title reads true; it is a funny story- if you find depression funny.

Actually, it's kind of a coincidence because when I was browsing the bookstore, I was in a pretty depressed state, and at first I didn't pick it out. What I did pick out, instinctively, was a New Moon Movie Companion. That I spotted straight away. But it took me the second time around the same bookshelf to come across this paperback novel. And finally opening up and even giving any attention to a book that isn't apart of the Twilight Series. I'd hate to say I was being closed minded- but I guess you can just decide that for yourself.

I like this new hobby I've discovered.

I think I'll be doing that more often. :)

Every now and then it's good to get away. And living in Canada during the winter months cancels out escaping on a bike all year round. So, books will have to suffice for the time being.

If anyone has any good book recommendations, leave me a shout out! I need a good.. ohh.. five or so month supply. ;)

Vma's, twilight, and school once again.

So tonight I watched the VMA's with my (in the words of Feath) "rentals" and it was indeed a very interesting one. Full of many interesting events.

And they weren't even lying this time.

It was the most SHOCKING VMA'S EVER! =P

Seriously man. wow.

From the MJ tribute's to Kanye west being a complete a**hole (yeah, that's right my blog is censored), to Beyonce being totally thoughtful and giving Taylor Swift her moment.

Now everyone hates Kanye, and loves Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

Oh, and I left out all of Lady Gaga's outfit changes. O.O

This is just one of them..

Scary huh?

I was sure startled and confused by them all.

They just kept on getting worse and more shocking than the one before.

Oi.

I just don't understand.

Anyway, it was quite interesting. I don't usually watch any awards show's but I wanted to watch this one for one specific reason.

THE NEW MOON TRAILER.

Although, I had already watched it on the internet (it was leaked onto YouTube) I still had to watch it on "the big screen" aka our decent sized HD TV.

It looked even more epic and exciting than before. :]

Call me a screaming fan girl, but I REALLY enjoy the Twilight series, and just about anything to do with it. BESIDES all of the sudden Vampire related things that are just deciding to come out now, after all of Twilight's huge success. Coincidence? I think not.

But, the reason I love twilight is because, (for me anyway) plain and simple. It's a funny, well written love story for the ages. that may seem a little pre mature to say "for the ages" but that's just how I see it personally. If titanic qualifies as that, then Twilight sure as heck does!

This (above) was my screensaver for a while. :] tee hee.

I just, absolutely love it. I think it's good to have something you mildly obsess over. =P

It feels good to get excited about something!

On another note, school's tomorrow. It's a full week!

Horray?

Not quite.

But not, not hooray either. =P

It's not THAT bad. And tomorrow it's only a half day for me. I'm going to my orthodontist in the morning to get my moldings for my invisiline.

In 2 years I shall half straight teeth! I know that sounds like a long time but, I was just thinking how fast these last two years will go by in school, by the time that rolls around, I'll be rid of my "braces." Sounds like good timing right?

That's what I thought! :]

Well, I better start getting things ready for tomorrow.

And finally take my quilt out of the dryer, because I'm pretty sure it's dry by now!

Just, *sigh* one of those days.. :(

I'm not even going to try and hide my sadness today.

Today, is just one of those days.

I suppose, everyone is destined to have a few in their lifetime.

My time, has come.

But, I wouldn't really call it a bad day, where a bunch of freak things happen, like a car drives by and sprays water and mud all over you before .. a date, or something important. No, I'd call it a day where two bad things happened.

1. A falling out with a friend.

2. A complete mess-up by me, in the video shoot. So, the new Twilight song might be delayed.

Now, for the 2nd point, I can't decide if I'm just being too picky, but I KNOW that the last line, I didn't sing it the strongest. It's very weak and shaky, not a good way to end a strong song. So, my dad tried to fix it by, literally, cutting that part out. It's now.. too bad, but I don't think I like it either. And I know that I can sing it, I just didn't get a good take, I was rushing it and it didn't turn out good.

So, that's one of those.. music video's? YouTube video's.

Sometimes you don't everything right the first time.

We might reshoot.

I felt (still do to a degree) really crappy about it.

I'm such a perfectionist, and I'm obsessive compulsive. I actually watched an episode of Dr. Phil today, and ACTUALLY wrote down the tips for Managing Stress and Anxiety.

O_O yeah.

I'm kind of a freak.

The first point, well, since this isn't a real diary, it's a blog, and I do have a collection of 1000 views, I'll keep the person's name under wraps.

And I won't go into much detail of the situation. But, I'm just really upset and mad about it. I'm having this big fight with them, and uuggh, it's just getting out of hand.

I don't know if it'll ever be resolved. Because I still hold my side of the fight.

Everything I said was true. Hard, but very true.

I don't think they'll ever see that.

I've had a lot of things on my mind today, I didn't get much done, but I did clean our entire kitchen just to try and take my mind off of it. And watching Dr. Phil did help, I actually enjoy that show. I learn things. :P Things that I can use.

Tonight, I'm going to a movie with my mother. "Julie & Julia."

A nice, light hearted film supplied with popcorn, chocolate, and company should do me some good.

*sigh*

Just.. one of those days. lol

I understand why guys don't like Twilight. It's completely comprehendible.

It's 2:35 AM, but I had to write a blog entry.

Never thought that this would happen in a million years...

MY DAD WATCHED TWILIGHT, and DIDN'T HATE IT. =o

He didn't like it either. But I can live with that. =P

I just can't believe he watched the whole thing, aside from one scene.

I didn't expect him to like it. I mean, think about the reasons why us teenage girls love it so much. Bottom line, cause it's a Love Story. Sure, there's vampires and legends and shape shifters to boot, but we all know the main reason we love it.

That's why mainly girls love it. What guy goes out to see love story's instead of action or horror? Their called "chick flicks" for a reason.

So I understand why guys don't like Twilight. It's completely comprehendible.

The same goes for why girls don't enjoy war movies. ALTHOUGH, almost every single movie, (ALMOST) has a love story entwined in it.

Funny huh? ^_^

Anyway, I just wanted to rant about that.

I love Twilight if you haven't already guessed or previously known that. I like the book better though. For many reasons. I could go on about that, like I did tonight with Tisha, but it would probably be better to turn off this computer and my night lamp and go to sleep. Were going to the Sooke Pot Holes tomorrow with everyone, and were going pretty early.

Yesterday I went to bed at 3 in the morning, looks like I'm following the same trend tonight. Which isn't wise since I felt like ass when I woke up at 10:30 AM. But, I suppose the freezing cold river water at Sooke will wake me up, if nothing else.
