Summery state of mind (:

HI (:

Greetings from my summery state of mind!

A while ago I was either saying to a friend, or thinking to myself, how this summer wasn't feeling quite right. The weather has been iffy, I've only been swimming once (which is disgraceful), and on some occasions (much too many for summer) I would wake up WAY to early. We're talking 5:00 - 7:30 AM. Sometimes this would be by reason (like playing at the 100th Canadian Walmart Grand Opening) and sometimes, it would be by no particular reason at all- which is strange, and highly annoying.

However, for the past... maybe week and a bit (maybe more, maybe less) it has begun to feel much more familiar. I've been downtown, played some gigs, watched some gigs, met new people, met up with friends, seen some great movies, and basically just enjoyed everything.

:)

So all in all, it's been a pretty lovely summer so far (:
I really can't complain.

As for the rest of it, me and my fam are going up island tomorrow to enjoy endless sun, beaches, and swimming. ^^ I am quite looking forward to that. :]

When we get back, it's PRODUCING, RECORDING AND CREATING for me. I have the rest of summer- that's almost an entire month- to focus on my album.

I'll keep you posted on my progress with it.

Wish me luck =)

Oh- and you have yourself a lovely summer as well :)

Won't let it get away

It was just two days ago when I realized we were already three weeks into summer break. It was two days ago when I was sad, because I could already imagine the next several weeks going by in a blink of an eye.

Since those past two days however, I have thoroughly enjoyed being with my family, helping around the house, and beginning the production of Stay Strong.

I can say that (so far) I've been savoring summer, and I intend to continue doing this until it's final dying breath.

I won't let it get away from me.

Now, this is the summer I know and love.

Now, this is the summer I know and love.

Heading out to festival gigs and catching up with familiar faces.
Laughing and joking with friends and family over dinner.
Playing basketball and badminton (i.e. the BEST SPORT EVER) 'till our hearts content, and running through someone else's sprinkler because it's just that hot out.

Yeah... I could get used to this (:

Summer greetings- checking in.

Hey (:

I know it's been a while, but this summer has been going quite... unusual.

It's been quiet- if you have any idea what I mean by that. I mean... it doesn't exactly feel like summer- or at least, not like any summer I've experienced before.

Maybe it's just me. The one who's quiet and unusual.

It's a possibility.

One certain highlight (no matter how pathetic this might sound) was seeing Eclipse. :] I've already seen it twice- and if I get pressured into it enough- three times including tonight. =P

It was WONDERFUL! The best of the three movies in my opinion. I went to the triple feature midnight showing with my like-minded crazy, hardcore Twilight friends and like the time before, waited for five hours on the this time hot cement, playing cards and drinking lots of Starbucks. From that, I've acquired a new taste for coffee. I like it now. :]

This is both a good and bad thing. =P

Another good and bad thing is Victoria's latest weather patterns. It's finally hot out. This is good in the sense that we are free to go to the river and lake- it's now suitable for swimming. But what's bad is it's not so great for staying inside beside a hot working computer- recording for me, I mean. Perhaps I'll invest in a small air conditioner for my space, but during important recordings, it can't be on. It'll show up too obviously.

*sigh*

I think I will get me one of those though. Sounds like a sane investment.

I have some gigs coming up, if that's the kind of stuff you're interested in. I also have an interview for one of them. That one being the Organic Islands Festival, which I haven't been to for... two years now? I played once before- my first time busking- and also on the main stage, when I was fourteen. One of my first experiences performing most likely.

It should be fun. I am quite the hippy... or at least I've been told.

If you're interested in coming out to that (which is this Saturday), or any other events I'll be playing at, visit the news page on my website HERE.

Well, I better get to practicing and preparing my set list!

Talk to you soon (I PROMISE)

Speaking of life...

I've made summer official by wearing a dress and recycling all of my old schoolwork.

:)

Life's good.

Speaking of life, here's a new song I wrote about it...

:]

"My Life Begins Now" (WORKING TITLE)

To feel alive is like a song

Things change as it moves along

I knew you once, oh I knew you well but that's not enough

Cause things change, they rearrange, I know it's tough

When you feel like caving in, don't

And when you feel like its too much, I won't let you down

Where are you?

You're some place new

I'm not used to

But that's what life's all about

and I think I'm ready, I think I'm ready to let it out

My life begins now

To be in touch is like a guitar

Hold the strings, play new things and make your mark

Lyrics take what we mean to say and make them real

So I sing to you and hope that it makes you feel

If you feel like you're alone, you're not

And if you feel like giving up, I've got your back

Where are you?

You're some place new

I'm not used to

But that's what life's all about

and I think I'm ready, I think I'm ready to let it out

My life begins now

I'll give it all I've got

and I just might make it to the top

Won't you give it all you've got

and join me

This could turn out to mean a lot

It's the simple things that make life worth living

We never know till we try

so try me

Where are you?

You're some place new

I'm not used to

But that's what life's all about

and I think I'm ready, I think I'm ready to let it out

My life begins now...

My life begins now

..............

What do you think it should be called?

Comment it!

Reminiscing on My Summer so Far..

Hello!

So.... summer's almost over. O_O

When I think about, that's right. SUMMER'S ALMOST OVER. =O

So, what have I done?
Well, let's see.. I haven't been blogging very much, that's for sure. =P I wish I had, but there wasn't much time for me to do so. And I'm not just making excuses. No matter how relaxing you think my summer has been, which it was... to a degree. It was mostly kind of hectic. And, on the go.

My summer has mostly consisted of me, my mum, and my cousin driving to and from gig's I have every weekend, and sometimes on Wednesday's... always Wednesday's if it's not the weekend. =P lol. It's been fun though, I gotta say. But, also, I feel strange. I haven't seen the majority of my friends in, well a month and a half. although, that's not entirely true. I did see my friend Sarah a while ago. She came out to one of my gig's, because, well SHE'S AWESOME! :) We had fun, I still have to give her the photobooth picture's we took at the mall. :P

That was a good day. =]
I also went to the sooke pot holes a few times. The first time was with Little Carley. Man, she'll never get out of having that title will she? ^.^
I went to the Paramore/No Doubt concert with my two friends, Ashley and Heather. That was a blast! I think I already blogged about that..

But anyway, I have done quite a lot of things now that I think back. =)
& that's good.

I've had a lot of fun with my cousin Tisha. And it was awesome when everyone came out together. So that's my family + my aunt Melody, Daryl, Brianna & Tisha, 3 of my cousins. It was a riot. It really was. I think I blogged about that too. Lol, =P
Here's a picture of my brother, Chase, me, Tisha and Bri. It's awesome cause our ages go in order. I'm 15, Tisha's 16, my brother's 17 and Bri's 18. ^_^

Their such great people. I love them. :)

I've had an adventurous summer all in all. And I'd like to say I'm ready for the new year, and the new school year, but I'M NOT. =P I still want time to myself. To work on my music, finish recordings, film a music video. I'm gonna have to squeeze all of those things- and more, in to the last, what? 3 weeks I have left of summer.

I think I can do it. ._.
