you're not alone.

Hm. . .

I want to write an entry right now, but I don't know what to say. Actually, that's a lie. I have something to say, but I can't decide if it's being too personal. I mean, I pride myself on telling the truth in my blogs, and I do- but there is that barrier, that line between what I would write for everyone to see, and what I should keep to my personal, physical journals.

._.

Well, I think I'll attempt it- but I'm going to be as vague as I possibly can. No specifics, no names.

It's actually about blogging itself, and people I know who participate in it. For me, blogging is a way to vent, to let my thoughts and feelings escape somewhere, if not in conversation to an actual living person... who can respond... then to an inanimate object that has no choice but to listen, and record.

Now, it seems it's turned into something bigger, something more relevant. It's now changed from just a personal hobby of mine, to a looking glass into other people's lives. A window into their feelings and hardships, outlooks and well.. things I never would have known if it weren't for their mutual habit of making sense of it, typing it all out and publishing it for me, and anyone else who is interested, to see.

The only difference it seems, between their posts and my posts, is they let everything out. One of them even writes entries as if they were talking to a certain person in their life and even names that person. This someone, is a lot more thoughtful and grounded then I ever could have imagined. Their blog is making me see them in a completely different light... their blog is making them more relatable and familiar to me.

It's crazy.

Things I never would have known- and possibly shouldn't know- I do now.

It's funny- we see people in our everyday lives, doing everyday things, having everyday small talk with other everyday people- but we never really stop and think what it could be like for them... how things have played out in their lives- let alone, what their thinking. People who are weird, or maybe just the quiet ones who you don't really question, but just accept that their that way and don't think that there could be more to it than that.

Much, much more.

To have accessed such a thing that gives me this insight is (like I said before) crazy.

So, to those who feel hurt, rejected, happy, sad, unimaginative, embarrassed, inspired, curious, depressed, misunderstood- or even all of that all rolled into one- perhaps, you should join the blogging community.

And perhaps, you should discover that you're not alone.

"We're best friends, you see."

Okay, I give up.

I miss mixing my song lyrics with my blog posts. ><

I made another blog, as you may already know, called "K S LYRICS," but it just isn't as much fun as letting the lyrics play out in my life events as they naturally would.

So, I'm going to start posting lyrics on here again.

Since I've been writing a lot lately (songs I mean) that would actually give some bulk to this blog, because I haven't been posting as near as often as I used to. I'm down to two on average per month.

This makes me sad! :(

I'm going to make a conscious effort to blog more frequently.

That's two things that I plan to do. =o

Another thing that I plan to do is, participate in the semi-annual (it seems) Coffee House at my high school. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's like an open mic for students at my school, held in various places in said school. Such as this time it's the cafeteria- which isn't as bad as it sounds, they bring out couches, a stage and everything! It's quite cute. :)

I was going to attempt to play piano (since I've been playing and writing so much on it lately), but I've chickened out at the last minute. To be quite frank with you, I'm nervous about it, and performing with piano is a big step for me. I don't want to add more stress than I need to, so I'm sticking to my first instrument, and that is guitar.

We're best friends, you see.

Piano and I, well, we're still getting acquainted.

;)

Now that I've decided I'm just playing guitar, I need to re-think my set list. I need four or five songs... I'm thinking newer ones, just because that would be more interesting for my friends.

... and me :]

Hmm...

NOT IN ORDER:
  1. Something Again
  2. It's Been Too Many
  3. You'll Never Know
And for the fourth one, I feel it should be more... happy? :P More upbeat.

Maybe.. I Can Hear You.

So that would probably look something like:
  1. You'll Never Know
  2. Something Again
  3. I Can Hear You
  4. It's Been Too Many
Hm. =\

Well that's all I've got for now.

I'll blog later, look forward to some new lyrics! :)

Signing off,
K

Realizations

Hey you.

How have you been?

I've been pretty good. As of late, I've been realizing some things.

One of these things would be my record.

I have finally given in, and accepted the fact that it won't be finished for this summer. There is a possibility that it could be completed for mid to late summer, but certainly not the beginning.

What's most likely going to happen, is I'll be working on it throughout the summer and hopefully get it done for September. For me, that still would be a good time to release it.

BUT- I am not going to make that mistake again. The mistake being- making a deadline for my album. I never should have done that. It adds to much pressure. It makes the experience not fun anymore. I was doing great with it up until I uttered "I should have it done by this summer."

Because it went downhill from there.

But I except my wrong doing, and am now willing to move forward. Right now, moving forward entails finishing recording You'll Never Know, Rewind and Push for this VERY IMPORTANT contest I am to be entering in by May 1st.

When I'm done recording these songs, I'll let you know what I'm doing with them. Because you're going to be involved. :)

You'll see! ^^

As well as making that deadline (which is one I have to make), I will be working extremely hard on Social Studies. I'm in Socials Star Works, which is working at your own pace, and I am immensely behind.

But I am going to pass, for myself and for procrastinators everywhere!

I won't let us down!

;)

Well, I better get my day started. I'm prepping to record Push, the guitar and vocals. I'm also in the middle of finishing up writing and writing more new songs on the piano.

It's fun. =) When it comes to music, that is what I ultimately love- songwriting. Everything else is just a bonus.

Singing off,

STOKED.

Hey there!

So I haven't been blogging for quite some time now, and this saddens me. A lot is going on right now, which is really just more material for me to blog about, but I find when this happens I do the opposite. Unlike when there's absolutely nothing going on- I blog like a maniac.

So- let me give you the low-down.

#1 We got a new kitten. I think his name is Charlie, it's been a week now and we haven't come up with anything better, so Charlie it has to be. I think we've always been kind of saving that name for a pet. I think he could grow to suit Charlie. Oh, and apparently it's spelt "Charly" because it's supposed to be like me and my brother's name combined. Chase + Karly = Charly.

Clever eh?

Anyway, here are some pictures of the newest addition to our family.

He's 10 weeks old now, and he's quite a handful. But that's okay.

What else do you expect from a kitten?

Like I've mentioned before in my blog, Louie (my first cat) is lonely, and this is one of the reasons, if not the main reason, I wanted to get another pet. It just didn't seem fair to have only one animal in the house. So far (and we've only had Charly for a week) him and Louie have been getting along pretty decently. Pretty good I'd say for the first week. Hopefully they'll be best friends! ^^ That's what I want to happen anyway.

So, I'll keep you posted about that. If I blog often enough anyway...

#2 Tisha and Melody (my cousin and my aunt) are coming to stay with us for almost two weeks, starting tomorrow! :) They're going to be looking for houses here because they're moving here soon after their visit- along with my other cousin Brianna. I'm sure I've mentioned them before.

I'm super stoked about it, and particularly stoked for tomorrow for numerous reasons.
  1. We're picking them up from the airport in the morning, so me and my brother get to skip at least a half day of school. SCORE. =)
  2. We're going to White Spot for breakfast after. YES.
  3. And after all that awesomeness, we're also adding a visit to one of my favorite places in the whole word (actually, that's ridiculous, the world's a big place. Let's just say one of my favorite places on the island) Sidney!
^^ HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!

Most definitely my kind of day. =]

Come to think of it- this entire week is my kind of week. That's what's happening tomorrow, as well as a big family dinner involving Chili. lol =P Also I have to go to my Choir's sound check- a not so ideal part of the week- but oh well. I signed up for it. On Wednesday I get out of all my classes for the actual show (Choir), plus I have an orthodontist appointment in the morning. So that's gonna be cutting it really tight.

Now, this is where it starts to get interesting- On Thursday I think I'll go for a half day of school as well, and then me and my mum are off to Vancouver for the John Mayer concert!

HELLS YEAH.

One of my favorite artists ever. Needless to say- I'm bringing my camera. :]

It'll be fun, one of my cousins, Daryl, lives there, as well as my other aunt, and we'll be going out for dinner with them. We'll stay in a nice hotel and I'm assuming the next day we'll be making a "quick" stop at IKEA. My mums excited about that part. :P

We'll be back on Friday, late afternoon I think and my rents and my aunt are going out for a dinner party- so that just leaves me, my brother and my cousin alone in the house.

It's gonna be fun. =3 Fun filled with pizza, probably video games and lots and lots of laughing.

That brings us to the end of the week, and virtually no school.
See what I mean by my kind of week? ;)

We also get Monday off, like I couldn't ask for anymore! :P

It just keeps getting better. :-)

-Except for the fact that I'm pretty behind in school and it will leave me being even more behind, but that's all water under the bridge!

....ha ha.... ha..... ha ._.

Oh well, I won't sweat it. I'd much rather be spending my time going to concerts, being with family and just overall having FUN.

Everything else can just work itself out and revolve around that. For me, school certainly does not come first. Especially the messed up school system that we have nowadays.

And with that, I leave you.

Hope your week is as crazy and fun-filled as I predict mine's going to be.

you + me

So I take what I can get and I put it in my pocket
There's a handful of regret, but it seems I went and lost it
Don't you know, don't you know that the best things in life are free?
Like you and me, just you and me

Good to Be Back :)

Hello my little friend,

It's been a while, and in that while some things have changed- while some have not.

I'm feeling a tad more optimistic about my album, but that's just because I'm forcing myself into that mind set. I haven't physically done anything about it, or toward its creation, but it's spring break, this gives me some time.

I'm so happy that it's Spring. =) As I've said before, I love Summer, and we're just that much closer. It makes me feel peaceful, happy. ^_^ Not that I become a complete pessimist in the Winter, but warm and sunny weather gives me that extra boost of energy.

That's how it feels anyway.

I've started writing again- songs I mean. When I was in that "gotta work on my album!" stage, I completely disregarded everything else. I know that sounds bad. I have to remember to balance things in my life, and I'm working on that. Always am...

Anyway, it's probably one of the reasons I'm in a particularly better mood. I forgot what it does for me. It's really a selfish thing, my music. It's how I vent, well I suppose writing altogether is my way of venting. When I wasn't blogging or writing songs, or anything, I was keeping it all bottled up. I can't take those things for granted. Even if I sit down at the piano and end up writing a really crappy song, it still makes me feel good. It's still what I crave.

This time however, I did not write a crappy song. I wrote a lovely song. :)

This makes me even happier. ;)

I don't have a title for it yet, but I do quite like it. I wrote it on my keyboard, and am getting better with the keys. This is one of the things I want to accomplish in the near future- to keep getting better at piano. I need to keep progressing, and writing songs with it helps me do that.

I bought a new Notebook when I was out one day, (I'm addicted to purchasing cool notebooks when I spot them, even if I never end up writing in them) it's an eco-friendly one, with leaves on the front and back covers. I've been writing in it steadily and so far, out of that writing I've started two new songs. One of which is the piano one I was talking about and one came from jamming on my guitar.

Their both interesting. Different from what I've written in the past- which I love. I like to progress in my writing as well, that's why I'll always be plugging away... I suppose I should take the same approach to producing as well...

It's just, I'm stuck producing Goody Two Shoes and Stay Strong. I have to get by these two songs in order to move forward. One of the problems for me I think, is their so old. I'm not into it. I am however, into writing new songs. Quite frankly their boring me.

How do I bring them back to life?

Well, writing this blog sure made me realize a couple things. It's good to be back again. :) Back to blogging and the blogging community. =]

So here I am, here to stay :]

The Little Things ☮

I'm happy to inform you that things seem to be looking up. :)

And it might just be because I've changed my mind set, but that's okay with me. After all, we are in charge of our own happiness, or at least that's what I like to believe. So now, I've finally taken that saying to heart and changed my way of thinking about things.

It could also have something to do with the good talk I had with my mum at the beginning of the long weekend. I guess sometimes venting on here just isn't enough.

But ANYWAY, this weekend was quite fun. :] I crossed #11 off my Bucket List (that's setting up the basketball hoop in the driveway and playing B-ball with the "neighborhoodlums"), went to Little Carley's 16th Birthday party and completed two school assignments.

Needless to say, it was indeed productive.

I had a lot of fun as well! =) It was beautiful all three days, and I really soaked it up. Acted like a solar panel to be quite frank. :P It reminded me how excited I truly am for Summer. I have officially decided- Summer is my favorite season hands down. Forget about Winter, Summer is where it's at! The sun, the fun, the friends, the festivals, the NO SCHOOL, the sleeping in... I could go on but it's probably your favorite too, you know the reasons. ;) haha.

One of the school assignments I had to complete was a Self Essay for English. It was due on Thursday, but here I was on Sunday sitting at my computer, waiting for a stroke of genius to be blessed upon me. When I was at school, I couldn't write anything to save my life. It was the weirdest thing actually. I pride myself on being a writer- or at least being able to write and enjoying writing- but this time I just froze. It could have been the environment and not being able to focus, or maybe it was the fact that... I HATE WRITING ESSAYS. Why? I. don't. know. I hate having to structure my writing. I like to let what I have to say just flow out in whatever form it happens to shape itself in, but of course with essays you cannot allow this. You must "prepare" and "organize" your thoughts before you begin AND shove a thesis and topic sentence in the first paragraph... blah, blah, blah, blah, BLAHH.

>.<

lol. So let's just say I was stuck. It wasn't working and for the majority of the long weekend I left it. It wasn't until today when I worked up enough courage to even entertain the idea of starting again. GROWL, were my thoughts exactly.

But, my mum gave me some advice, and I guess that's what she's good at because about two hours later I submerged from my bedroom and printed up my finished essay.

=D HOORAY

A huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders and it feels delightful.

So here, I give you the weight that I will be handing in tomorrow- late mind you, but I'm proud of it nonetheless.

=) What do you think?
I'm really happy with it, and I actually got to know myself better by writing it.

Well, I think that's all for now. I still have more homework to do.

x[ I know. It's depressing.

But I got the bulk of the work done, so don't feel too bad for me. ;P

Till next type!

The List

Hi blog.

I know I've been kind of rude lately, ignoring you like this. But the thing is, I've been really busy. Now I know this sounds like a complete cop-out, but it's true. I have been busy with real things- things that you'd count. Like school and homework- actual, physical things. But there are also just the ins and outs of life that I have been busy with. And these seem to take up much more of my time lately.

Do you know what I mean?

In other words- I feel as though I'm thinking my life away.

I've always been one to love and admire quotes like:

"I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count."

and...

"The secret of health for body, mind and soul is to not mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly."

I completely agree with these mind sets, and only wish that I could be as adventurous as Jack from Titanic, or as wise as Buddha. I constantly tell myself to embrace these ways, the ways of life I truly believe in and really want to live mine by, but I just .... seem to end up not following through with it.

.................................................
(the above was written on February 11th, 2010)
I decided to continue on writing the entry, because today's topic fit with that of the post before. Let's continues shall we?
...........................................................................

Today; this is going to change. Because today, I have created my Bucket List.

:)

You know what I'm talking about right? A Bucket List being a list of things one wants to do before they "kick the bucket" (die). Well, today in Social Studies SW me and three of my friends started writing ours. :]

It's really exciting actually! So far, I have 12 things on my list, and before I tell you what these things are, you should know that I made it a point to not write things like "get married" or "record first album" because those are types of things that I most likely would have done or would have already wanted to do with or without my Bucket List. The types of things I am including in my list are adventurous, random and fun experiences.

... Or at least, they are to me! :P

So there you have it. The beginning of what I hope to keep forever, to constantly be adding to and of course COMPLETING! =P

*Cheers to a lifetime of adventurous experiences!*

^^

OH! When my friends and I made these bucket list's today, we also agreed to certain "terms" of the list.

#1 We're going to carry our list's with us wherever we go, in case inspiration strikes and we need to add something before we forget.

#2 We can "challenge" each other to add certain activities to our lists. As long as they aren't defying any laws of physics or completely stupid and/or ridiculous.

#3 In the last week before summer break, we are going to gather outside Belmont on the back field and compare our lists. This will be a perfect time for some of the "challenging" to occur.

And the obvious rule,

#4 You MUST complete your list!

You must make everything you write on your list, a reality! So...

Tip #1) Write awesome things on your list! :P

I'm really excited about the whole idea, and am glad that I've created one at this point in my life. After all:

"Life is a journey, not a destination."
(Cause we all know what the destination is...)

. . . Karly
